Question 10v Battery with a Stock Gear Box

I recently bought a 10v battery for my Stock CA AUG. I have yet to test the battery because I am afraid that using the 10v battery may damage the gun (I have only used a 8.6v battery with it so far)

I have been told that the 10v will work fine by one friend, but another told me that it would not work unless I upgrade my gearbox. So question...

Will a 10v battery work with a stock CA AUG?

Thanks for help

It will shoot at a much faster ROF, that will most likely break something. If it doesen't break right away, it will majorly decrease the life span of your gun. My seggustion is that you upgrade your piston and possibly your gears, so that it can stand the extra ROF.

Do you have a preferred place to buy a piston and gears? One person suggested I buy this upgrade kit from airsoft GI. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=1056 I do not believe the kit upgrades the gears though so I am not sure if it is worth it (hell i don't even know if the piston head they would swap my old one out with is even better), I'm not really looking for a higher FPS which is what the upgrade seems to be mainly focusing on. I just want a gun that can handle the ROF the battery will give.

( I myself have no experience with the internal parts of my guns, the only servicing I do myself is barrel cleaning/lubrication.)

If you want to up the rate of fire beyond what a 9.6v battery will give you, I recommend installing high-speed gears. I would not run a 10.2v battery on a stock gun.

I recomend Guarder, Prommetheous, or Modify gears. As for piston I recomend G&P or Prommetheous. If your looking to increase you ROF then these gears would be one of the best choices: http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/product_p/34524.htm As for piston I would go with one of these: http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Promet...ft_p/58030.htm If your not comftorable going into your gun I would take it to Montgumeryville Army Navy, or Old Mans shop and have either Maverik or Old Man work on it.
