7 Weeks (more theme than scenario)
Tensions between world superpowers have always been high, but nothing dramatic ever happened. The US has always sat high on its throne of Democracy and military strength as China and Russia sat below brooding. Nobody expected Korea to strike first.
It wasn't long after the first missiles started to fly before the sky grew dark with haze and ash. In a matter of hours, civilization as we know it was reduced to ruins.
It's been 7 weeks.
Without a strong government to maintain order, the chaos erupted in the streets. Those not badly injured took matters into their own hands and formed factions, fighting for basics like food, water and medicine. With most of its forces deployed elsewhere, the US military was unable to provide a sufficient force to combat these tribal factions, and without logistical support, help was not on the way. The task of establishing order was left to local departments, from the national guard to local police departments, but it was not enough to keep the factions of "Free Citizens" from fighting back.

Apocalyptic situations are something I've always loved. The decrepit sense of desperation, the unique ingenuity and diplomacy, the disturbing proximity to home. This is done all the time in video games, probably because they too have grown bored of the standard, "generic military A fights generic military B."
This is less of a specific scenario, and more of a setting; a set of guidelines to try and achieve this effect. Many of the standard scenarios would still apply, just names and specifics might change. Instead of a container of weapons, it might be a container of radiation medication. You might capture a water pumping station instead of a generic bunker, etc. This theme would also require the proper attire...
- No weapon restrictions. (Mismatched weapons might even add to the theme)
For the factions (could be multiple)
- Preferably no camo or distinctly military apparel (these are civilians)
- Civilian clothes or outdoorsman equipment (Think what you would wear if you weren't prepared)
- Duct tape (Make things look dirty and broken)
For the "Force" (federal branches)
- Uniform-ish
- Slightly more professional looking weapons
- Urban warfare equipment (even though we're fighting in the woods)
- The word "POLICE" somewhere visible on the torso
I'm still trying to figure out how to bring the apocalypse theme into Airsoft without making it unnecessarily costly for the players, so I'm open to suggestions. Perhaps no government at all, and just waring factions could make clothing easier to come by, but would make team discrimination more difficult.
I'd say the inspiration here is split between Half Life 2, Fallout 3, Mad Max, Terminator, STALKER... (Geez, this apocalypse theme is everywhere!)
