Reason: fixy fixy as requested
i did mention i am an ass. For me it was unwatchable but again i watched the first one and i am supposed to be doing other things right now... like fixing cars.. so its one of those 'i wasted my time to watch this?'
I have no doubt its excellent for beginners and hell yes please sticky this
And no i have no better way to babble, But anything that teaches players to play honorably/safely is thumbs up from me. I guess my comment may suggest not watching it. Infact i suggest just the opposite.
Randy if you can please add at the top of my post 'I Suggest any new players watch this' and change 'unwatchable' to 'Kinda boring if you already know the basic rules' i would but i am past my edit time
I in no way want to discourge beginners from watching anything that will make playing safe and more enjoyable for all involved.
Just a little bit. Before I steer this thread back on track I must say I was partial to the brunette and I am a sad/lonely enough person to grin at the bang bang rule. However, being new to airsoft I would say this is very useful and overall a worthwhile contribution to the forums. Having played paintball for the past 10 years I already am familiar with variations on these rules but it was a nice refresher course.

Sometimes castings not just about finding the hottest girl, but to find the actor with the right on screen personality. While some of the jokes were awkward, they both did a decent job of presenting the information, and did so more smoothly than a lot of second tier news anchors or sports hosts I've seen.

I agree with what everyone has said, however it might have been more powerfull to show some examples of kids who got caught with airsoft guns. Their testimony might make more of an impact.
you're talking about video six aren't you. seriously though, i'm sure there are people that can read cards that are hotter. i mean look at all the hotties at our games...

i'm trying to get a paintball field up here in MA to allow airsoft as well. i posted these on their forum and it really boosted our chances of getting airsoft there...
They were posted on Youtube. So long as you don't try passing the video off as yours and it's in it's complete form, I'm sure they won't have a problem. The idea is for education, not profit.
Yes, we do - just be aware of when it's appropriate and when it's not, and also be aware of the fact that YOU MAY NOT bluff the Bang-Bang rule. If your gun is empty/broken/no gas and or battery - you may not use it to Bang-Bang. We can't use language in the rules that covers every possible scenario, so understand the spirit of the rule and be a good player/sportsman.

Hey guys, im a total noob to the sport but im under the impression its gonna really hurt to get shot with my L96 sniper rifle at close range. and i read here not to shoot anyone within 50 feet. so does that mean if i have a clean shot on someone i should just yell bang bang if they are within 50 feet? and if you were like 45-49 feet away are you gonna be mad or honor such a bang bang?
Well, two things - first I don't think that a stock L96 will shoot over 400 (but I could be wrong). Second, we don't use the Bang Bang rule. We do have a surrender rule, which only applies if you SNEAK up on a player who is unaware of you, and it is also smart to carry a sidearm of some kind (even a $10 springer will do) if you have a rifle that shoots hot so you can engage targets safely at closer ranges than your Minimum Engagement Distance allows. If you are using a bolt action rifle that shoots higher than 400fps its your responsibility to not engage inside of your MED - and to back away if necessary. If you are 45 feet away from someone and have a good shot, take a few steps back or switch to sidearm, or wait for someone else to take the shot. If thats too much bother, then maybe a hot gun isn't for you.
[Edit]I seem to be contradicting n00b's post a few up... will clarify later.
[Edit2]The final verdict is that we do NOT use the Bang-Bang rule - we have the surrender rules in place for a reason. If you have a hot weapon then switch to a sidearm or back away - what it all boils down to is common sense. If you wouldn't want someone doing it to you, then don't do it to someone else.

N00b's post was posted while we were still deliberating behind the scenes.
Really, this is all based on each person's ability to not be a dillweed. If you have snuck up on someone, and you are closer than your engagement distance and got them dead to rights, you call for a surrender.
If they feel like they want to be rambo, they can pay for the mistake. However, as a responsible player, you should make sure you are aiming low and for something rather padded (like gear).
however, there's instances where it's just not a good idea no matter what. I always opt to just talk to my would-be victim. We're all friends out here. Usually we'll agree on a safe outcome.
The "bang bang" rule, while safe... is a cop out in my eyes. Too many thing can go wrong with a shot. You're out of ammo, your gun jams, you are a sucky shot, they are a suckier shot, there's a little branch in the way that somehow grows to 6 foot in diameter when you fire...
Bottom line, use your best judgment. However, as stated earlier, you cannot purposefully create an unsafe situation and use the rules as a shield for your actions. When in doubt, just hold your fire.
ok, well i wont be intentionally sneaking up on people with my sniper rifle for the close range shot **ENGLISH** that would just be totally stupid. but say someone is running straight at me and shooting? does the fact that they are shooting mean i should just shoot back? obviously if they have no idea i was there i would probably be like um you should just give up.
I mean that if someone thinks, "hey, if i run closer then 50 feet he cant shoot me so ill just run up shooting."
As of now i don't have a side arm yet.
Also, i saw a vid on youtube where the gun was chronographed by airsplat.com and depending on bbs size (.20-.25) i think it was up around 470 fps at its highest if i remember correctly.

I would take any reviews or submittals by a retailer with a grain of salt. No wait, I take that back, I'd take them with a pound of salt. They want your money, plain and simple.
If someone is charging up on you creating an unsafe situation, inform a staff member. Our number one goal here is safety.

so what do hot girls have to do with airsoft anyway???? does that marketing company view airsofters as lonely horndogs who drool at the slightest glimpse of a hot female??? for real- the videos were very informative.... but i was just put off by the fact that they had these two scantily clad models in make-up and high heels narrating..... couldn't they find a grizzled war veteran... or at least a guy who looked like a commando or something? does everything have to be about marketing sex???? honestly, i like hot girls as much as the next guy, but they don't belong on the combat field telling me how to airsoft.... that was probably the first time they both picked up a gun! i would have rather seen the guy from FutureWeapons or something....
am i alone? or did anyone else find this odd?
