Anti fog fans, which direction should airflow be?
I recently bought ESS Striker goggles for $25 and a CPU cooling fan for $8, with a little bit of superglue I have pretty much made fan goggles. My only question is, which way do I want the air flow to be? The fan has the ability to either blow air into the goggles or suck air out of the goggles. Which is preferred for stopping fog?

Well, according to ESS the most efficient way of relieving you goggles of fog is to suck the air up through the goggles. Supposedly this increases the speed of the rising heat from your breath and sweat.
/It's also possible this is BS and ESS could just be saying this to make themselves seem smarter.
It will likely keep the fogging down either way. As has been stated, ESS sets their turbo fans up to blow the air OUT of the goggles. I made mine the same way when I use using my home built ones.
Blowing air in may also dry out your eyes/contact lenses.

Correct, you want the hot air to be sucked out with the fan. Did the harness come with a switch as well? How did you mount everything up, any pics.
I have built two sets so far, and for under $6 in parts, they work just as well as the $160 ESS. When I built mine, I found Hardware Cooling had the 25mm fans nice and cheap, and were also local, located right in North Wales. Then a quick stop at Radio Shack for the switch (example switch only), some solder & shrink, and custom lipo dual fan anti fog goggles for less than $30 (less the lipo).
I think i can get some 80mm fans. In theory they should be the right size. To Micro Center!
Are you kidding?
That's over 3" square.
You want a tiny little quite fan. How about a 20mm? That's more the correct size to sit on top of the vent holes in the ess goggles.
Think laptop fans, not tower fans.

For some reason I keep picturing a 120 mike mike artillery shell mounted to the top of somebodies goggles
Also I don't have my camera (sister took it to Peru) so I can't take pictures, but basically I just have one 20mm fan on the center of my goggles with a built in wire that connects to a 9volt battery connector. I just keep the 9volt battery in the sock that comes with ESS goggles.
