Buying a SNIPER rifle

ok well ive already posted stuff about buying AEGs and i know the consensus on that. but how about sniper rifles? will rifles like this suffice?

That WELL won't get you anywhere unless you upgrade the crap out of it. The other one (M14 version) won't be classified as a sniper rifle here because it is not bolt action.

If you have a low budget, go with the JG BAR-10, get a tightbore, hop up bucking, and maybe a spring for now to improve it's performance. Ask fightingirish or Adeluca for more sniper rifle advise if you want.

Ya those wont work for you very well. Your better off going for like a 100 dollar echo or somthing of that sort.

WELL's are notoriously poor quality. They really aren't even worth having as a base model. Patrick was right about the JG if you're on a bit of a budget. The other option is the UTG L96 [as has been mentioned on here several times, I believe].
Personally, my sniper rifle is a JG G-SPEC base. I've upgraded it over the time I've had it, but I've never had a problem with anything.

In my years of BYA games I have owned both of those, the M14 was actually my first airsoft gun I got three years ago (I still have it). If you are on a very tight budget the M14 is decent but lacks the FPS and range that you need a good sniper rifle to have. On the other hand the M14 is very durable for the price you pay and still works for me after three years.

The Well is the complete opposite, it has good FPS and slightly above average range but the gun lacks durability and wears down VERY quickly. As P90Airsoft said you will need to "upgrade the crap out of it". It lasted me only about 500-750 shots stock. Yes it does come with a scope and bipod but I would not buy it, instead save up some money and buy this- UTG L96. It is my current sniper rifle and I love it. Plus there is no need to immediately upgrade it since it is outstanding stock. The UTG L96 is very durability, good FPS, good range, and easy to operate. Would rather use my L96 with out a scope than the Well with one.

Everyone has their own opinion on whats the better Sniper Rifle to use. We most likely will agree the models you posted are doomed towards failure. You wont enjoy the game if you are using a below crap rifle.

I wouldnt tell you to go anything less than a UTG L96 or the JG BAR10. Out of the box the UTG will most likely out perform the JG in FPS and Range. Both rifles with upgrades are very comparable.
Alot of these online places make the sale seem so great because they throw in a scope and bi-pod. There is a reason they throw them in to "sweeten up" the deal. It makes a lesser gun more appealing and the stuff they give you with the deal is more less a crap Scope not even worth $20 and Bi-pod

This is true, you won't even be able to upgrade a WELL unless you happen to know someone who can custom machine parts, like me. Go with the UTG L96, because you most likely wont be able to find a bar-10.

Also I have the Well MB-04 and it is a great gun. The same exact internals as the L96 and it shoots wonderfully.

I have two friends one has a UTG L96 and the other has a WELL L96. As stated above the external quality of the UTG is superior and the WELL is the only out of our three sniper rifles that has a bolt twisting problem. (after every 100 or so shots you have to tighten the bolt on)
So the UTG L96 is a great gun.
And if you want to upgrade the rifle start with compression and internal quality than start upgrading fps and barrels. You'd rather have a gun that lasts longer than a gun that hurts more! Trust me I have gone through 3 stock trigger boxes and am really disapointed I don't have the funds for a Zero trigger. Upgrading fps is the only thing I regret in my airsoft days. I was foolish and thought FPS was everything but of course it's not...
