Hey everybody soon after preordering black ops they gave me a poster, some of my friends told me there's hidden secrets in it so I finally decided to check it out. Here's what I found
I saw about that, but I probably won't get it. I'm still working on Bad Company 2, and pre-ordered Medal of Honor (which you, if you haven't seen it, should definitely check out).

Maybe. I'm just excited for all of the new customizations and game types. The other thing is that everyone in school will have it and I don't want to be left out in the fun.

Right.... "fun".... getting shot by a Crossbow that shoots sticky grenades....
Yess!!
I am definitely getting medal of honor.
Black ops looks the same with different weapons and perks etc.
I am up for a change and think medal of honor seems like an adequate option.
I am really frustrated with the weapon damage in COD it takes 3 m16 shots to kill but 5 m4...?
I am extremely sure they are the same gun but the m16 is an older and longer rifle... It just makes no sense to me. Also I'll probably have friends who will get Black ops so it will work out if I get Medal of Honor

You may have changed my mind Josh I'll have to look into it!
And yes I know black ops is cold war, but ehh I am tired of the COD series

I have converted. PC gaming is the master race of gaming. You guys should try Empire: Total War. It is far superior to your low-intensity "modern" conflicts. It takes real gentlemen to stand in formation, give them what for, and then the bayonet!

Or we could shoot eachother with our Uzi's with thermals and silencers from unrealiatic distances and use no teamwork dude!
Going to try medal of honor this time. Sick to death of call of duty and its horribly unrealistic trashyness.

I've been playing medieval 2: total war for weeks now. Its great. Been playing a grand campaign trying to control the entire map, i've got about half. Maybe i'll give empire a try too.

Sure you could since even large maps are only a few feet of paper in real life.

Everyone knows that S.T.A.L.K.E.R is the way to go. It's the most addicting and bad a$$ game you will ever play. What's better than shooting mutants, bandits, and zombies while in Ukraine, wearing gasmasks and using one of the best guns ever made? Ak's.

Never heard of this game I think I'm going to check it out. It sounds like metro 2203 (right year?)

Yeah they are the same people who made Metro 2033. Metro is more linear while stalker is more open. It's awesome and the games are cheap too. I think the first and last one are 19.99 and Clear Sky is like 9.99. You should check it out. In my honest opinion Call of Pripyat is the best one. It has the best graphics out of the three and best experience. Just make sure you have a decent computer.
Bandits, man. Bandits I remember one cheating me out of an artifact and my next thought was "I'm going to kill this guy. I'm going to follow him to whatever campfire he sits around and kill him" God I love this game

Im getting the impression that you've had some bad experience with the COD series pat?
Im buying this game simply because my best friend is getting it (oh stop it silly). I 100% agree about the unrealistic BS that goes on in COD. I dont have high hopes for black ops, it is being made by the same company that made World at war, which in my opinion was an utter failure, and Im glad some one else bought it for me. Infinity Ward who has made COD4 MW, and MW2, I dont think can be topped by the black ops company. By the way that crossbow sticky grenade thing, I can already see being the most agrivating bull**** ever!
Sorry to the MoH fans out there, but I was in the MP Beta on PS3 and it was.... really really bad. The MP is like a bad rip-off of CoD. It was really glitchy and all of the guns had absolutely no recoil. Also, it had a poorly thought out and lacking rank and unlock system. Nice graphics, but in my opinion thats all it has going for it. I have no idea what the campaign is like, but I buy games based on the MP component. I am buying Black Ops 10% for the single player, 30% for MP, and 60% for zombies. I can't wait for the new zombie mode. Did you know you get to play as JFK, Nixon, and Fidel Castro in the pentagon during a zombie outbreak?!!

Don't forget Gorbachev.
Also MoH was disappointing, really really really disappointing, it's a chain that is like 5 years behind. And I am really pissed that all you need to do to sell a game is advertise it and over-hype it, hell it fools me every year.

Medal of Honor is awesome. It isn't a rip-off of Call of Duty, but it is of Bad Company so I hear.
Black Ops is going to suck. LOOK AT IT! Crossbows that shoot STICKY GRENADES! That's the dumbest thing in the WORLD! That's worse than Dual Wielding Shotguns! And seriously look at the second video Josh posted, yet again DUAL WIELDING pistols. Except this time it's Stainless Steel 1911's... 2 weeks after it comes out everyone will be annoyed with the multiplayer because of dual wielding, crossbows, Famas's, and god knows what other ridiculous thing else.
But yeah I'm still getting it to validate my opinion

I'm not really into hyper realism in videogames. I love CoD because it is so much fun! Just saying, from my experience in the MoH beta, it isn't that realistic either. Since you like realistic videogames, I would suggest GRAW 1 & 2, and any games from the SOCOM series.

I have been playing MOH (PC) for months as a beta tester and for the last three weeks, the full game. There was actually a lot of tweaking and patching done between beta and the full game.
edit: I wanted to add, MOH has one of the BEST single player campaigns I have ever played. This is from someone that usually does not play through single player content, I was actually waiting for more when it ended.
This game as some game play approaches that differ greatly than BFBC2. First, in MOH, as a team it is imperative that your team aggressively takes territory to the objectives and pass them if at all possible. You can NOT defend a objective by pitching a tent behind said objective with a lollor sniper rifle. Sniping can be very useful in game but only a few are needed per team. the best pinch points for the defense are actually in front of the objectives, getting your team mates up to man them is another matter.
On the offense, if you use cover and gasp (bounding over watch) it is pretty easy to move into the objectives and past them, the offense has several advantages include the choice to spawn forward or in base (be warned that spawn forward could be the random loller sniper that is behind the base, but I digress) in most "combat mission games" the attacker (usually US) has upwards of three M3 Bradly IFVs to bring forward, these are by no means unstoppable juggernauts but it does take some deliberate teamwork to knock them out, that is much harder if two are used at a time.
to reiterate:
Game play: fantastic if you are a "tactical fps gamer" or are team work oriented in your game play. Unlike BFBC2 my frustrations are not with game mechanics but actual team mates that will not move.
Camping = BAD you are going to get pasted in your spawn if your team as a whole is not moving.
Kit balance: good customization (better than bfbc2) and fair balance, some of the weapons need adjusting, but not much. CampField Bad Hacker 2, a average team was either made up a 95% of snipers and medic kits because the balance was way off.
Graphics: fantastic, your avatar does blend into the background if you are remaining still and using cover. Moving allows (shine) or even just movement to make you move obvious.
As a server admin and clan leader: full support of dedicated servers, this allows me to not only use punkbuster but other third party anti-cheats, Rcons and other countermeasures.
Offensive and defensive skill chains: These are pretty well balanced and useful. these are awarded at score plateaus. Using defensive ones give you the most points and effect everyone on your team. Offensive ones, get you kills in egregious and spectacular ways.
In all, I really like the new MOH, Pretty much only play BFBC2 only for scrims with the clan, actually liked COD4 and COD wow in tactical mod servers more than BFBC2, AIX 2.0 mod for BF2 is awesome but the gaming community has moved on. and would rather play old medal of honor allied assault spearhead than modern fail 2. Part of the FAIL in modern Fail 2 is the lack of dedicated servers and using valve anti cheat (VAC) three jokes in one) My feeling for COD black ops is not good partially due to the use of VAC, even thought black ops will have dedicated servers they are only available through Games servers (a company that rents server space) as a admin, some of the third party anticheats and rcons will not interface with black ops, VAC or games servers so the effectiveness is going to diminished. Which was will my own clan go? Not sure, we have a moh sever now but only 4-6 players, the other 30 or so members are going to wait and see how black ops plays, then make a decision. Honestly, we are still playing a lot of COD4 and MOHAA SH, there is no school like the old school.

And they finally nerfed quickscoping too! Thank god for that haha. I was tired of seeing people with names like 1337_QuIk-Sk0hP_McBeAsTLy69 just running around with their stupid barrets and doing nothing.
Apparently, when you aim your sniper rifle and bring up the scope, it briefly wobbles around to throw off your aiming, thus thwarting would-be quickscopers. Also, the perk that allows you to aim faster does not apply to sniper rifles.

And they kinda nerfed "Noob Tubing". There is no "One Man Army" perk, or one like it, and the "Scavenger" perk doesn't reload ammo for launchers. So once the "tubers" use the ammo for their launcher(s), they can't reload the ammo unless they die.

Once Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare was released, I let go of that series. I hated the game. Everyone who once played Rainbow Six Vegas migrated to Call of Duty 4 which sucked because then there was no one to play Vegas with. I can't stand the "perks" of Call of Duty. I want a war game. No it doesn't have to be ultra realistic, but power ups are over the line in my opinion. Especially when the back cover claims it to be the most realistic game ever. However, the thing I disliked the most about this game was the element of team work. It didn't exist. In fact it was negative so to speak. I felt like I was on my own team as your goal is to be #1 on the boards.
I want to get MOH despite its mediocre ratings. It looks very good and I've heard the single player to be excellent.

Sniping can be very useful in game but only a few are needed per team. (I've played plenty of games where about 80% of the enemy defense is sniping. It kills the game, the fact that their .308 kills me in one hit but my 7.62x39 kills in 5 hits is infuriating!) the best pinch points for the defense are actually in front of the objectives, getting your team mates up to man them is another matter. (Exactly, throw your whole team in front of the objective and you've won! I'd say more than half of the objects offense has to capture involves running through a bottleneck with no other alternative, having no choice but to run into a full dug in enemy team through a bottleneck gets old...fast)
On the offense, if you use cover and gasp (bounding over watch) it is pretty easy to move into the objectives and past them, (if defense doesn't have you bottlenecked) the offense has several advantages include the choice to spawn forward or in base (be warned that spawn forward could be the random loller sniper that is behind the base, and it almost always is ) in most "combat mission games" the attacker (usually US) has upwards of three M3 Bradly IFVs to bring forward, these are by no means unstoppable juggernauts but it does take some deliberate teamwork to knock them out, that is much harder if two are used at a time. (takes about 4 RPGs I think, the main cannon on the IFV is god awful, and it doesn't kill in one hit, I mean, it's freaking 25mm! Lets not even get me started with the coaxial machine gun that kills after you put about a pound of .50 in the enemy)
to reiterate:
Game play: fantastic if you are a "tactical fps gamer" or are team work oriented in your game play. (We can hardly achieve this in airsoft, it's never gonna happen in the video game world unless you only play with friends) Unlike BFBC2 my frustrations are not with game mechanics but actual team mates that will not move.

Offensive ones, get you kills in egregious and spectacular ways. ( I do like these, however it seems that eventually you just get an unstoppable flow of skill chains due to all the points you get for using them in the first place)
Red = My $.02, keep in mind I have only played this for the xbox 360, and never with a party larger than 3 people (limits tactics greatly)
*Note* I accidentally put a few things that Jeep said in red
