Dammit, Massachusetts!

ugh, head-to-desk moment ahead.

RE: Dammit, Massachusetts!

It drives me nuts. And I consider myself having moderate-leaning-left tendencies. I feel both the AG and the reporter don't know exactly what they're talking about. The reporter says they can shoot metal, and the AG thinks no one at all should be allowed to buy airsoft. Freakin' idiot.

RE: Dammit, Massachusetts!

Hey, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry are the elected state senator's from Massachusetts. That little bit of info should clearly illustrate the thought proscess from that area of the country.

To be a liberal doesn't require thought, only emotion, hence the success of statments like the famous "thousands of children die every day due to handgun violence". Anti-gun groups use statistics that include the violent deaths of 18 to 20 year old gang members and felons killed in self defense by law abiding citizens to create such overinflated statements. Also, certianly the mother of any criminal will consider that deceased person their child, and rightly so. If your AEG shoots steel bb's, and they certianly could if you wanted to ruin the thing, and loosing an eye would be considered by most a serious injury, keeping that line of reasoning in mind the report was factual.

Stay informed and never, ever trust anyone who knows what is best for you; including the voices in your head. Trust me, they lie, I know.

yup

yes, generalisations are immature. i agree with you, mostly, but not completely. i am a moderate, who sways conservative. but i understand liberals point of views, even if i do not always agree. what i do hate is when people take a political standpoint without the information, like EVERYONE at my school :(
but yes, never listen to someone who claims that they know what is best for you. only you do.

I appologize; another generalization. Maturity is an illusion used to assert a percieved sense of superiority over another person's actions, opinions or beliefs, when unwilling to or unable to engage in dialogue on a given subject. A similar, yet less thoughful response might be, "da".

i totally agree (especially living in Mass. and being 14). the thing that really pi$$es me off is mr. riley saying these are "dangerous, dangerous weapons" and him always refering to them as "weapons". other than the no sales to minors and sales must be with an orange tip, laws against airsoft are virtually non-existant. the bad thing is though, people are trying to put in laws taking away our (meaning minors) guns away, trying to keep the kid who walks down main st carring a $15 springer in broad daylight. unfortunatly, this will also affect the responsible ones (like myself) who keep their rifles in locked cases and does whatever possible to keep then out of view of major roads.

just saying.

I\'m a moderate, with Liberal-leaning tendencies, but when the schmucks in the government do or say something as stupid as this, I stand by one of the NRA\'s most famous sayings: \"They can have my gun when they pry it from my cold, dead, hands.\"

AirsoftMike has a point. When do you see kids walking down the street with CA's and TM's. Its always 6 year olds with $25 sports authority clear springers. Even though it wont happen because its a profitable buissness right now, if sports authority stopped selling these cheap guns then no "immature" kids would have them. No ten year old can afford a $300 aeg, and also i dont think online is as much of a problem because most 6 year old's arent going to ask their parents for a credit card. They just see them in the store and ask for them. And if you look at all the guns that were in the video on the table, they are all available at sports authority. Maybe this isnt the case everywhere but where i live its all clear springer from sports authority.

And airsoft guns are nothing compared to some of the stuff sold to minors on the internet. Before they attack airsoft maybe they should take another look at all the drug trafficing done on the internet.

you know this makes me think that maybe C3 should start a PA intiative to get these cheap guns banned or harder to get in our state to protect our sport.

Loose new people or loose sport all together?
It may not come down to that, but there are enough of people who would like it to be banned.
Kids who are seriously interested in playing airsoft the way we do will wait until they are of age or have the money for an aeg. Most people who buy the $15 springers are not playing like we are, they are having driveway and sidewalk wars which we dont need.

People getting into airsoft normally have friends already in the sport. Those friends would more than likely not let them get some ****ty springer. I mean you can get a decent starter gun for $100.

Now that you mention it, I think they did the same near me. But the reason they did it here is because the district is cracking down on violence.

You people are dumb and need facts, sports authority, dicks sporting goods, and walmart all stopped selling springs and airsoft because they were sued by the state of Mass. Airsoft atlanta was also sued and had to add a disclaimer on their website. It is not kids getting a hold of their parents credit cards, its the damn gift cards that have the visa logo on them. You can buy them at any age from local malls and they can be used to purchase anything anywhere credit cards are accepted.

Also to assume that C3 has resources to do anything other then run airsoft games and a website is rediculous. Honestly people this is like a minute of research done to net this information.

its possible they just took it off the internet sales, as that was the source of a sting operation run by the mass police with the help of a basterd 12 year old boy ordering the crap. they just gave him the money.

Honestly, I think its the parents. While I was at Mongomeryville Army-Navy today I watched a mom while 4 boys, not one of them over ten years old, buying them all airsoft guns. After I paid for my items, I walked up to her while the kids were scream about who was buying what guns and said, "Please don't let your children use these guns in view of the public, buy them some painball goggles, and make sure they don't miss use them." Needless to say she got really pissed off. When she started chewing me out I turned to the guy behind the counter and informed him that it isn't right of him to be selling kids that young airsoft guns reguardless of if the parent was there or not. Why is it everytime I think people can't get any more dumb, they prove me wrong? While I understand it may have been a bit forward, and even wrong of me to say something, I don't regret it. Its because of stupid parents/kids the our sport is in the negative spotlight.

/End Rant.

She'll probably be suing the same merchant two weeks from now for carrying deadly weapons when one of her kids puts someone's eye out with the thing.

Personal responsibility, $100,000 in attorney's fees. Blaming someone else, priceless. For eveything else there's natural selection... er, mastercard.

Its a shame that for the actions of a few idiots, the general airsoft community is being targeted. What angers me is that the politians and people of high power such as that DA will wage a war against anything that isn't appealing to them or the public that is ignorant of the facts.
Before I was allowed by an airsoft gun (I am 15) my parents did research about it and explained to me that I needed to be responsible. I never shoot outside of PL, CC, or WPP. As for young kids, they have a right to airsoft too. I think its weak parents who buy their kids anything to shut them up need to learn that they are the authority. As someone who has good experience with young children I learned that you can't talk to them calmly and negotiate. NO MEANS NO. These parents are the ones that do not supervise their children who do idiotic things to bring bad press to responsible airsofters. As for calling them deadly weapons. Show me one fatal injury that an airsoft gun is DIRECTLY responsible for. Not some trigger happy cop's beretta.
