Every Forum needs rules, we never really posted them. So, in some free time, these were created.
Each rule is nonnegotiable and MUST be abide by. Don't like it? Leave. These forums are a PRIVILEGE for you to use, not a right. You are a guest.
YOU ARE A REPRESENTATIVE.
This board is our first and, most times, only impression we give to other people in airsoft, paintball, and just about everyone else. Every post you make is reflected one way or another on the rest of the group. So while you might not care how your attitude is on the internet, the Admins do. So keep your posts mature and helpful if needed.
NO FLAMING
Back up all statements with THOUGHTFUL comments and reason. Resorting to insults will not be tolerated.
For example, this is allowed
Quote:
Bill: Well I disagree because I find this to be false. AEGs have had a long life span in my care.
Bob: Well they never last for me. They break every freakin' day. And I know I'm following the proper care procedure
Bill: Maybe you misinterpreted the procedure wrong if they are breaking for you everyday. Can you describe your daily usage?
This would NOT be allowed
Quote:
Bill: I never have a problem with my AEGs.
Bob: For me they never work! They break every freakin' day! I know I'm using them right.
Bill: You newb! You ain't using them right if they're breaking!
Bob: You're a forum troll.
NO MOD SASSERY
While admins and moderators are few and far between, and they might come off as asses from time to time, you are to treat them with respect. Not saying you can disrepect anyone else, but I mean an admin deserves even more on the forums. They're putting their free time in to keep these forums functional.
Admins have bold usernames, moderators have italic usernames.
EVERYONE DESERVES RESPECT
Classic saying "Can't say something nice, don't say anything." Goes above and beyond here. Slandering(yes I know, this is print... but it's more like speaking, so it's "slander") of character in any way will be met with severe repercussions from mods. Just be civil. Airsoft is a MATURE game, act like it.
WE SPEAK ENGLISH
I don't mean French or German or any other "actual language" can't be spoken here on the forums. But I'm referring to " effeminate Speak." If we see this in a post any mod reserves the right to change your post to make you sound even more foolish (as hard it as it may be.) Sound intelligent, avoid " effeminate Speak."
This includes blatant overuse of punctuation, tired old catchphrases (ORLY, AYB, etc.), and anything that would get you an F on a fourth grade english paper.
THE GENERAL FORUM IS FOR AIRSOFT DISCUSSIONS ONLY
Found something on a website? Wanna post a link? Don't. Not unless it pertains to airsoft. If you absolutely feel compelled to share with your Airsoft brethren and post something completely unrelated, post it in the OFF-TOPIC Forum. Any post not in there will be deleted with out warning.
TROLLS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
What's a Troll? Someone trying to invoke an argument. The first and/or second time a post will be deleted or altered and the user issued a warning. If problem persists, the user will be banned.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK
Before you go and start asking questions immediately, take a look at the forums first to get your bearings. Even do a quick search. Then, if you still have questions, feel free to ask. We're here to help, but answering the same question 50 times over will get on anyone's nerves.
READ. COMPREHEND. POST.
With the "Instant Message" becoming mainstream, many people are now writing like they speak. Gone are the full descriptions and extra words to describe feelings. Voice tone and facical expressions are now implied.
This will lead to problems if not headed off. Make sure you read each post, the post before that one, and the one before that, if possible. Try and get a feel for the tone of the thread and the tone the user is using. Then post. Most importantly, do not skim the topic if you plan to make a comment. You could very well miss a vital piece of information.
If someone mistakes your post as an attack or whatever, be the bigger person and try to reexplain your position. Remember, sarcasm doesn't always fly in text.
OLD AND/OR DEAD TOPICS CAN BE REVIVED (WITHIN REASON)
I know this is a big annoyance on other boards. Well it's not here. If you found something interesting in an old topic, don't be afraid to post in that thread. There's a reason this stuff isn't deleted.
HOWEVER, do not post in a thread to just agree or something. Unless you have something to add to the discussion that has currently died off, keep quiet. Reading several posts from January and then suddenly reading one from August with just an "I agree." is annoying.
In short: Add significantly to the topic, or leave it be.
RANKS AND POST COUNTS MEAN NOTHING
While it might be a big deal on other forums, it's not here. Ignore the forum ranks and post counts. It's a spoof. You are not judged of what you know by how many posts you make. Everyone joins the board at different times. And some just don't feel like loggin' in.
In short, they're pointless.
SIGNATURES AND AVATARS HAVE RULES TOO.
Signatures and avatars may not have profanity, obscenity, racism, or insults, implied or expressed.
Any signature and avatars in violation will be changed without notice. If the user keeps switching theirs back to it's violation, the user will be banned.
KEEP PHOTOS TO A MINIMUM, DON'T BREAK THE TABLES
Not everyone is on a broadband connection (as just mentioned). Be considerate and keep random photos in topics to a minimum. If you do have a bunch of photos or a large photo, warn in the thread before posting. Best idea is to just make a link to the photo.
If you do post a photo, don't break the tables of the forum, keep it under 800x600.
AND NO SPAMMING!
HIJACKING IS ILLEGAL
Posts, after so many of them, do tend to stray off topic, but I'm talking about threads that deal with one thing, and someone posts something that has nothing to do with the thread in it's current evolution. That's hijacking (regardless if you are the Topic starter) and the post WILL be deleted or, if it already has a discussion growing from it, split off into it's own thread. But that's extra work on the part of the mod, so, if you have something new to share, just start a new thread, no one minds, really. But don't go into a thread about something else and completely send it onto something else without so much as an anchor.
A post deemed "hijacking" is based solely on the discression of an mod. And they will take the action they feel is best.
LEECHING IS DISGUSTING
Leeching images from other sites is prohibited. All images in your posts must come from your own hosting. Do not steal other's bandwidth.
NO POSTS CONTAINING RACISM OR DISCUSSION OF ILLEGAL ACTS
Posts containing racist statements will be deleted, and the poster will be banned. Posts containing discussion of illegal activities will be deleted. Depending on the severity of the infraction, appropriate action will be taken by a mod.
NO ALTS
That means if you have, or are using, more than one forum account, you are breaking this rule.
NO PROMOTING BACK-YARD AIRSOFT GAMES
Playing airsoft in public is inherently unsafe. Unless you are playing on a sanctioned field, don't promote it here. Mods and Admins will delete any and all promotions, boasts, etc to back yard airsoft. Repeat offenders may be banned.
DO NOT LIE ABOUT MILITARY SERVICE
If you have never served in the armed forces, do not say that you did. If you were a cook in the army, don't say you were a sniper. It is disrespectful to people that have served or are serving, and it's against the law. All claims of military service may be checked by forum members that are in the service. Bottom line: Airsoft is a game of honor, if you can't tell the truth about your life, you probably won't call your hits either. Don't lie about military service!
These rules should mostly fall under common sense. Anyone in violation of these rules will be restricted in using this message board. Again, this is a privilege sponsored by a few generous people, it is not your right to be here.
Happy Posting.
By using this forum, you have accepted and agreed to these terms.
promoting. iss that like " me and my friends went into my BACKYARD woods and played?
Yes and no.
We don't want any posting about any games on non-sanctioned fields. Places like PL and LP are OK. Places like "the woods behind Jimmy's house that we totally have permissions to play on and the cops are OK with it", not so much.

There are those who find comfort in living as beasts... no matter how much pain they have to endure. Stories of humans getting involved with beasts always end on a bad note.
I certainly will! I am new to the forum scene and am looking to bring awareness to the fact that we are offering airsoft for the up coming season. It is our true intentions to exceed the expectations of our airsoft customers as we have been doing for paintball and laser tag customers. Any suggestions on forum rules, etiquette and so on would be greatly appreciated!
I can't seem to understand the filter. I've seen a bunch of other people ****posting as it were, and **ENGLISH!** comes up. Is this something the mods are doing, or is there some trend I'm missing?

In the highly unlikely event that we edit a post, it will say "Edited by XXXX reason: XXXXXXX" at the bottom.
Everything else is the filter OR people are self-censoring
Regarding Rule 18 NO PROMOTING BACK-YARD AIRSOFT GAMES
Would this count towards asking if anyone has any personal property (I.E. large amounts of land away from the general public such as farmland, ect.) that one could play on? Now I know that it is not an official "Field" but it is an area that is set away from people who could come into danger with your run of the mill "Backyard" games.

To be considered a sanctioned field we would need to see proof of liability insurance. Whoever ownes the property would need to contact their insurance company.
