Good news for once: Airsoft in Law Enforcement Training.

http://www.mansfieldnewsjournal.com/...37/1002/NEWS17

Although it's not mentioned a lot, it is at least mentioned in a good light.

But the last two weekends here at our local mall the police, fire department and the mall's security all took part in training in which airsoft was used during the last parts of the exercise (Where actual exchange of gunfire was occurring.)

Very cool to see a local newspaper cover Airsoft on a positive scale and show that it can not only be used for fun- but for real world training and drills.

Good news.

Now, if only a full mall would volunteer to let C3 play inside...That would be sweet.

I heard about stuff like this about a year ago. I don't think it will change how people feel about airsoft much though.

Good news. But if the whole "guns on the street" don't stop, that will be the ONLY place it will be used.

This is cool to see the positive side of airsoft in the news, but I hope they were wearing eye protection because in the pictures it didn't look like they were. And how bad would that look, "Police officers looses eye during training drill with airsoft gun..."

I know the one shop in my Tech school, worked on a police car, and they pulled out of the back seat there was a bunch of bullets that instead of having the metal point, it fired a small paintball. We thought it was the coolest thing, because you could actually load it into your real firearm, but what it fired was a paintball. anywho, it was interesting.

Those are Simunitions. They are about $1 a shot. Many police departemts are turning to airsoft to save money

Thats cool that law enforcement recognize airsoft as a tool for training. I wonder if they would ever attend any C3 events?
