I am in need of a replacement outer barrel for my HFC M190 spec forces GBB pistol (m9 basically). I have searched the internet high and low, and the closest I have come is redwolf airsoft, and they are currently out of stock. Anyone know of some good parts retailers who would be able to help me out?
Have you tried DEN? DEN's a good place for esoteric parts. AirsoftShop also has a bunch of things in stock not on their website, email to ask. And of course, our local HotSpot has a bunch of overseas dealers and could probably pick one up for you, but you'd have to wait until the next order shipped.
Looks like a tough part to source. How did it break? Usually outer barrels are pretty solid.
I'm not exactly sure how it broke, I was in school and my brother brought it out so he could massacre his friends (they all use utg shotguns). It broke almost cleanly in half, right where the barrel becomes a complete cylinder. I think somehow the front of the barrel got stuck, and when the slide came back it broke it in 1/2.
Egads! That's amazing, I've never heard of that before. Must have been exceptionally weak plastic or a crap joint.
Unfortunately, I suspect you're going to have to spend a lot of time tracking down a vendor who will stock the part, probably from Hong Kong. Shipping alone will be much more than the part costs, and probably more than the gun is currently worth anyway. It probably is a good time to chalk this up to experience and pick up a non-HFC pistol. :)
yea, i got in touch with redwolf airsoft, they said they would have one in stock in like 5 weeks, which is cool, im not in any rush while im in pittsburgh.
No, I dont have them here with me at school. my brother was using it while I was here in pittsburgh. I finally got a chance to inspect it while I was home for thanksgiving. I may not be the most responsible guy on the planet, but im not that stupid.
I'd stick to KJW, KSC, Tanaka, Maruzin, Marushin, TM, or WA. Do a little digging, see what gets good reviews. Western Arms is the Cadillac of pistols- expensive, accurate, reliable, and amazing attention to detail. TM's also decent, good Japanese quality.
Keep in mind that all Japanese guns take HFC134a, not HFC22.
Of course, the AEP is the new hotness. I'm ricing mine up as we speak. I suspect it'll be my sidearm of choice for the foreseeable future.
