Sniper JBU Inner Barrels?

Here's the link: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_i...ducts_id=32701
My cousin is getting an UTG MK96, and one of the upgrades he's getting is an inner barrel (obviously). I recommended EDGI, but he came across this. With the price, it just seems a little too good to be true. Does anyone here know anything about these?

The barrel might be advertised as 6.01, but I doubt the tolerances are as good as EdGI. Stick with what works.

Okay, but he needs a bit more convincing than that...
His one friend is saying something about how aluminum is so much better than brass, and how it will last a lot longer.

EdGI makes stainless steel barrels, along with brass.

Aluminum is weaker than brass in this case. It's also much more prone to thermal expansion and deformation. Brass is good, but stainless steel is better.

If I recall correctly, JBU barrels are teflon coated aluminum. I still wouldn't trust it.

EDGI only makes brass barrels. Their official US distributor is about 15 minutes from my house. I would go for a Promy 6.03 Stainless Steel TBB. Or if you have the money, a PDI 6.01 Stainless Steel TBB.

To use AEG barrels he'll have to get one of these:

But if the budget is $100, just get an EDGI.

No, that's out of the question for his budget, but I just wanted to know about the JBU Inner Barrel. Thank you, Bracket and Sarin.

Isn't EDGI widely regarded as loller crap? NOBODY that is serious about airsoft uses them.

Either way, one of the asshats that used to be in Shadow Co is involved with EDGI, so I wouldn't give them a penny. But I'm spiteful like that.

If I recall correctly, Drew (fightingirish) used to use one of these in his L96 and said he got the groupings he wanted using the stock hopup and bucking. It may be worth looking into.

I'd recommend that he tries the gun out in the field stock before he starts upgrading the internals, he may find that he is satisfied with it's performance without modifications. UTG recently redesigned their hopup, cylinder, and trigger unit, and it is rumored that they now come stock with a tightbore barrel. Just something to think about, however.

There is NOTHING wrong with the JBU that I have been running in my L96 with the PDI hop up. I'm using the 6.03 in 500mm. I was thinking of trying out the 6.01 myself.
