lowering fps

My Echo 1 M4 shoots in the 360s and I want to start playing mor cqb with it and the arena that I play at has a Fps limit of 350. I was wondering if there would be something I could do to lower the fps by 10ish or so to drop it below 350 without having to buy a new spring.
Is there any way to do this.

Put a systema bucking and SCS nub in your gun. That should work.

/Also, "more hop up = less fps" whatever that means...

Technically, if there is any question, we chrono with the hop off, so increasing the hop-up just to pass chrono doesn't fly.
You could try compressing the spring overnight and see what that does for you. I've heard of people doing that, with varying results. The right way would be to swap the spring. If you're trying for a real CQB weapon, you'll want it to be well under 300FPS, and compressing the spring won't yield you that kind of result.

The arena I play at is 350 and I want to be as close to that as possible.

Why exactly do you need to be shooting that hot? If you're playing in a CQB environment, then you're not getting any more range than lower power guns, or any more ROF, or better performance for that matter. There are people who sport guns way below the standard FPS limits in CQB arenas and absolutely rape.

The truth of the matter is when it comes down to it, it's usually the person handling the gun as opposed to the gun itself that makes a difference. Hell, I've seen people dominate with springers shoting 130 FPS.

As a matter of fact, you would probably see performance go UP if you used a lighter spring. Not only would the gears and piston teeth probably last longer, but your ROF might also go up a bit if your motor doesn't have to work to pull back a stiffer spring.

Not to mention it'd be much safer to be engaging people within 10 feet with a gun that shoots 300 rather than 349. Call me crazy, but 350 seems a bit high for CQB, no?

Fields like LP chrono with hop up off as Steve said. However, some CQB arenas have somewhat of a give on the FPS limit. Such as 3 FPS. Most likely, this depends on also who is there chronoing. As Nick said, I too believe 350fps is high for CQB. I'm not sure how much of an advantage 350fps would give you over 300fps and believe it would be negligible.

I'm also not sure what you mean buy 360 fps or so. If you have not chronoed it and are going by what the maker or store says, it very well could be off. Also, springs break in and lower over time. You should get it chronoed if you haven't already.

If you're still getting 360fps, changing your spring is probably your best bet. If you don't want to go that route, leaving your gun overnight compressed as Steve said is a way to achieve what you want. I have heard some bad things about it though, but in its defense, I've heard it's fine as well.

I agree with both lou and Nick 350 fps is a little high for cqb and honestly hurts !When I was at action cqb I got lit up with 350 fps point blank and it covered me in bloody welts it wasn't fun.Though I have used my tm mp7 at old mans and got just as many people with the lower fps actually helps.
