Mission at LP, 14 Feb 09...

We did a really fun game at LP, 14 Feb 09...

A little guy suggested it. Good job airsoft12365!!
This could be a regular game at LP.

"Save the Hostage"

We had:
4 Terrorists
9 Special Forces Operators
1 Bound Hostage

Mission: SP Rescue the Hostage
Leave the flag station/ respawn point in Lil' Bagdad and get to the Castle and touch the hostage. Then the hostage with or without an escort make it back to the SP's respawn point.

Special Rules:
- Hostage was invincible and was armed with a pistol. His hands were bound, (the Velcro on his gloves were connected.) He wasn't allowed to use his sidearm, until touched by a SP operator.

What made it fun for me... I was one of the terrorists and I was yelling like a wild man, giving my best imitation of a Middle Eastern person screaming.

--------------------------------------------------

This was a fun mission, but I would like to add some things to the next time we do it.
- Keep the hostage invincible... If the hostage is shot no matter where or who shot him, he has to go back to the castle and start again, but armed.

- Being out numbered was fun, but I would like to try it with even sides.

**Any comments on this, please feel free.

That sounds fun. But maybe if the escort is all shot meaning not there or within a certain distance able to defend the hostage, the hostage may be shot and the terrorists win. Or maybe the terrorists win by taking out the escort and escorting the hostage to their respawn.

I was the hostage, and this was even a fun game for me.

The only problem i saw was that as soon as i was freed i just took off.
No protection and no tactics just running for my life to the extraction point.
So i feel to fix this, the terrorists start in the castle, but respond somewhere in between the castle and the extraction point.
that way the freeing team has to fight back out of the combat zone while protecting the hostage.

Also to make it more milsim the hostage doesnt have a weapon and must be provided one , if any. plus if i was the freeing team i would throw some body armor on the hostage just to give him some protection.

It was an awesome scenario, good job Airsoft12365!

I was Chalk 5 (Special Forces) Squad leader if you want to call it that, only problem I saw with the scenario was the super close engagement ranges we had to deal with when trying to reach the hostage, The Terrorists were trying to keep us from reaching him and of course we were trying to reach him as quickly as possible, and once we breached the castle we came into close contact and were forced to back off.

So next time we need to separate teams with predjudice to what weapons they are wielding, since the Special forces need to breach the castle and come into close engagements AEPs and lower FPS reading rifles should be used.

Just a suggestion.

I would like to add that I noticed that most players were doing a good job of minding their engagement ranges a close range (good job). It was a great scenario although I do think that the rescue team need its numbers advantage. We had to grind our way in, pin down the insurgence, free the hostage and cover his escape. The rescue team re spawned a LOT. particular crossing the open ground due to the use of cover restriction (only the team sniper was supposed to be in the heavy brush). Having the insurgence chase us out of the castle was a nice touch, good thing Greek runs fast.
