So I just got a new AEG (Echo 1 DSR) and I had heard that there was some special way of breaking in a new AEG. Something like shooting a bunch on semi only or something like that. Anyone know what it is if there is some special way?
alright well I used it and it seemed to be working fine but then sometimes I would shoot like a 5 round burst or something and it would just keep on firing like 30 rounds. I would take my finger completely off the trigger and it would just keep firing. The trigger itself isn't getting stuck because it will go forward when I take my finger off. Any suggestions?
Its an Echo 1 DSR and my one friend had the same gun and it happened to him once. They are both brand new too. his happened once and mine happened at least 5 times.

This happened to me twice. MY problem was that I got some BB's stuck in my trigger system. This may or may not be your problem, but if you feel comfortable, I'd take the gun apart down to the gearbox, and see if there's anything abnormal looking. You don't have to open the gearbox, just make sure there aren't bb's rolling around or something odd going on.

alright. If I do that will it void the warranty at all? and I don't really want to return it cause I just got it from airsoftgi.com and I don't wanna waste money on shipping and all that. It is just frustrating that it does that. thats all.
I hve a JG version of this gun and it did the same then after awhile it would only shoot full auto. Turned out the cut out lever arm was made of inferior metal and it had bent. I replaced it with a King Arms one and have never had the problem since. Hope that is helpful.

You might void the warranty, I don't know too much about all that. If you do it carefully, I suppose you could just take it apart and put it back together and if it still doesn't work, just say you didn't do anything to it...
Do you live anywhere near Montgomeryville Army Navy or Old Man's Workshop? They could definitely help you out. It'd probably be your safest bet if you don't want to ship it back or void a warranty.
I live about 30 minutes from the Army Navy and have gone there a few times. I might go there but I just sent an email to info@echo1usa.com to see if it was covered under warranty. If it is, then I will probably send it back and get my money back cause it seems to be a common problem with this gun. If I can get my money back, it is off to Army Navy for a new one!

Good plan, I'm glad to hear you got it figured out. The warranty should cover your problem.

It isn't very likely that you will 'get your money back', and you'll probably have to send the gun back to be serviced. Or, you could take it to Mont Army Navy and have Maverick look at it.

Yep. You are right. Got an email back - they will fix it but cannot give my money back. I will however sell it to a friend at school for the same price I bought it for and then off to Army Navy for a new one. $180 is my upper limit. Any suggestions?
