So I have been looking at various M4 Tactical Carbines for a few weeks now and I've narrowed it down to 4 different ones, a Classic Army, an ICS, a G&G, and another G&G. I was just wondering if any of you have had any experience with any of these guns or these brand version 2 gearboxes (especially the 2 G&Gs). Also if there is a better, in your opinion, Tactical Carbine out there please feel free to say it.
I've used both the CA and ICS versions. My CA is going on 4 years old and is still in decent shape. The wear and tear is starting to show on the ICS guns (the field I work at uses them as rentals) but they're still holding up. All things being equal I prefer the CA because it is more friendly to aftermarket parts.

I actually own the G&G R4 plastica that you have listed there as your last option. It is actually quite nice inside and out. As you may or may not already know, they come stock with a 6.035 tight-bore barrels, or 6.04 if you want to round. The hop-up is actually very good quality, and can really put some .25's down range. The plastic also has a really smooth feel to it, and is much stronger compared to standard ABS. All in all, definitely worth the money I spent on it.
Good gun, though I cannot speak on behalf of the other 3, never used any of the other options you listed above.
Get either the CA X series or the ICS. The CA has a regular gear box and better externals. The ICS has a split gear box, rotary-wheel hop up unit, and some other neat features. Make your decision on what characteristics you prefer.
As far as the G&G goes, stay away. Their internals lack compared to the X Series and ICS feature's and their externals BLOW. Their metal is magnesium and I have a friend whos sling mount broke off in the cold. It's very brittle. CA uses casting on most of their M4/M16 variants and it's one of the strongest airsoft aeg metal bodies. I'm not too sure what the ICS uses as mine is their sportline which is just an ICS gun in plastic upper and lower receivers.
Sorry Nick, I'm a fan of their sportlines as they are pretty much the same internally, have durable nylon fiber receivers, and cost less $$$. Not their prolines though...

No need to apologize, I actually agree with you there. I'll never buy one of the prolines, but their plastica line is amazing. The plastic itself is one of my favorite aspects of the gun. It feels very sleek and smooth compared to JG and Echo 1 plastic, and is much more durable overall compared to the magnesium bodied guns.
On top of that, in the winter (I repeat this so often about plastic guns that I might as well stick it in my sig), plastic will flex more than cheaper metals. If you were to smack a tree with the metal GR-16 in the winter, it is very likely you're going to snap something off. But with the plastica, it'll flex and "roll with the punch" a bit more. That alone makes it stronger by comparison.
I have decided the G&G proline is out. But I also found this G&P. Any experiences, problems, etc? Also any info on the gearbox reliability will be much appreciated.
