pellet confusion

I know your not supposed to shoot cheap bb's through your gun. But after a recent trip to a big sporting goods store I noticed there's about 20 brands.
Crossman has bio-degradable white bb's . I also know they make good steel bb's, so are they ok?
Can anyone steer me towards decent brands, since I know little about them.

I'd give the reccomendation to buy the bb's from the fields. Crosman as a general matter are NOT good bb's. Just go with the ones they sell at the fields. It's easiest.

NEVER I repeat NEVER use bb's from sporting goods stores. Personally I think KSC's are the best. I also know Airsoft Elites are good and TSD's are alright too.

Unless you have the tightest of tightbore barrels in your gun, as long as you don't shoot .12g BBs you should be fine. I've fired a LOT of no-name BBs in the past, and never had any jams. I DID have issues with accuracy, FPS, and range.

Just look at the BBs you buy and make sure they are round and have no visible seams.

As someone who's had a gun become crippled because of poor BBs, I recommend staying with what the field sells and the brands recommended here. I wouldn't really trust a simple "they look ok". The BBs I put into the gun that went down looked "ok", but all it takes is for one deformed to slip past.

Excel
KSC
And whatever one we're using at the field now. I think it's called "Firepower" or something? Sorry, I haven't looked at the bag in a while, I just sorta pay and go play.

I've used cheap bbs and trust me they cost me $400. Just spend the extra 5 bucks and save yourself $400.

I have to agree with Randy on this one. My rifle has also been brutally ripped apart due to crappy BB's. Stick to what's there on the field.

I run a lot of Matrix BB's from Evike.com. Order some of the .20's and you will be fine. They are also a low cost BB that's works well.

I have used only name brand bb's and so far the best that i have run through my gun are G&G .25s. I would stay away from no name bb's if I were you. It isn't like TSD .2s are expensive Old Man sells them for $10 a bag. Buy good bb's there is a difference between good and bad
