I never carry more than 1 extra mag. The extra mag I have in a UTG Mag holster attached to a good rifle sling along with a speedloader. The more mags you carry the more mags you will loose.

Do you mean the UTG L96 (MK 96)? I searched it up on google and couldn't find any type 99 but if your talking about the L96, I use the pistol mag pouches in my UTG cross draw tactical vest for my sniper ammo and it works great there. So I would think that a M9 mag pouch would work. And if I go a round without my vest on I just put it in my pockets.

Yes, pistol mag pouches work great. I used them to carry my VSR-10 magazines and they worked like a charm.

The specific rig I used was a MOLLE thigh platform with a dual pistol magazine pouch mounted in the center. In my case I actually used two of them side by side, but since you only have two magazines that would be unnecessary.

This was an ideal rig for me because it allowed me access to the pouches while prone (a position you should get acquainted with if you want to be an effective sniper, just ask Rich) where a traditional vest would make the task very awkward.

When I ran the L96, I used this to carry two extra mags and my speed loader. You can't see it as well given the poor quality of the pictures, but it has elastic bands running horizontally in one side and vertically in the other. I could easily secure and access everything with little effort. I used only this and a pistol holster for my gear. Running light is essential, so you've got to make the most of your gear

The best peice of gear I've found for carry all your sniping tools is a good padded MOLLE belt:http://www.tacticalassaultgearstore....atrolbelt.aspx.

You can experiment with different pouches and attach everything from mag / utility pouches too holsters.

When i get my sniper load out its going to be very simple and lightweight. I dont need a tactical vest or a molle vest, all i need is a leg pouch for the magazines and the speed loader and a drop leg holster for my side arm. If you want to be out of sight or get away quick you have to be able to maneuver easily.
