Remember the kid that shot the cop?

Well, the dumbass only got probation.

http://dailycamera.com/news/2007/oct...ets-probation/

I really feel he should have done hard time. He'd probably still be a dumbass, but it would serve as a warning to other people thinking about doing something stupid with airsoft.

I agree, that's messed up. What happened to the law that if you use a fake gun in a crime you get the same punishment as if you used a real one? (just like if you sell fake drugs to somebody you get charged as if the drugs were real)

I know a guy who was sent to jail for at least 7 felony charges. His family got the best damn lawyer they could afford, and got him a 2 year trip to the concrete hotel. Some ***ENGLISH*** are soooo lucky to get good lawyers.

that is wrong(the fact that he shot the police officer and then got away with it). what if the kid just picked the gun up thinking it was an airsoft weapon and shot him anyways, to find out after it was real? even though airsoft weapons can not fire bullets and cant be modified to, they should still be treated as real weapons.

Should is definitely the word... No matter what it was definitely a full blown assault charge, and the DA should have pursued that to the fullest.
