Hey all, I don't post here often but I plan to get out to the field more and more now that the date I can take my drivers licence test is looming ever closer. So, I figured I'd start posting again.
So, I've had this monstrosity of an AK Dragunov mash up from JG for quite sometime now.
I love the thing but, I've always wanted a Dragunov but never had the money for the Real Sword and I knew I wanted it to be semi auto. One day I saw some Romak 2 Ak parts on Ebay and it got me thinking. What is a Romak 3 if not a mash up between an AK and a Dragunov (externally at least)? So, I promptly bought the parts and began undergoing the task of building a Romak-3.
By the way what I don't have pictured is the internal upgrades I added so here's a list:
-Madbull 650mm 6.03 tightbore
-Systema Bucking
-SRC metal hop up unit
-CA reinforced piston
-M120 Spring
-Reinforced Spring Guide
-New Anti Reversal Latch
Also made the gearbox Semi only...
So, after receiving the parts I decided my first order of business was the front end.
I removed the handguard and cut it in half to make room for the upper grip from the Romak 2. I then cut in 2 little notches for the for the upper hand-guard to match up with.
Next up was to extend the gastube. I cut that in half too and then cut an old metal bar down to size to act as the extension.
So, now you can see how the front end is going to fit together.
The plan is to fill the gas tube and hand-guard with expandable foam so it stays sturdy/together.
But, the real challenge still awaits, making room for the motor in the stock.
However, if I fail to do so I can always fall back on the original plastic stock.
The plan is to have the gun together by Frequent Wind. I'll have pictures up when I put the stock on and it's all finished.
