Storing Loaded Mags
So I heard a rumor that it is bad to store midcaps or lowcaps loaded because it reduces the spring tension by getting it used to being compressed. Is this true? Because loading my midcaps takes a good 10-20 minutes and I would rather load them now than frantically before games but obviously it isn't worth potential damage.
Yes, especially if they are fully loaded. If the spring is depressed for an extended period of time it will reduce the springs tension, as you have rightly assumed. The spring being less tense means that it will not be able to feed BB's as rapidly, say not fast enough to match your rate of fire, and will cause you to mis-feed or fire blanks.
This will be especially relevant if the magazines are cheap (such as with many mid-capacity brands) because the spring will be of low quality.
Just borrow my speed loader Rob, it has a very high capacity and will rapidly decrease your load-times.

It's just like any other spring.
Would you leave your aeg spring compressed for a long while? I didn't think so.
Your midcaps may be a less noticable effect but after a while they will begin to misfeed due to the spring not putting enough force onto the bb and will most likely render useless results.
Although keeping your spring loaded mags fully loaded isn't good it would be good for your mid/low caps to stay slightly compressed. Putting in 2 or 3 bbs keeps your spring in alignment and in the long run will keep your spring straighter and moving through the tube without banging against it. So keeping the spring a bit compressed will make your mags perform better for longer.
So yes at this day and age with springs they can be compressed for good and the metal will stay in that state reducing spring rebound. Better to leave them not fully loaded.
Ok thanks Ben...my speed loader sucks, I actually just broke it after loading 3 mags
And yes the KA mags were really cheap, but AUG midcaps are pretty hard to find, unless you want a 30-50 dollar CA one
The MAG brand AUG midcaps hold 170 rounds and come in a box of 4 for $58 at Airsoft Extreme. I'll be picking some up sometime this week and I'll tell you how they are if you'd like.

I really need to use that store more Oh well.
But sure I would be interested in hearing how they perform.
It's not going to be a problem if you're loading them up say, the night before. Maybe even the week before. They'll be fine. I even encourage you to load them up the night before so you're not wasting time in the morning, when we're all waiting.
Certainly, if you're putting them away for more than a month, definitely decompress the spring. Especially if you expect the ambient temperature to change frequently.

The MAG midcaps for the aug work fine unless you load them over 140 bbs, then you start having some trouble. They might work now but after a while , it ruins the mags. (personal experience with 8 MAG midcaps for my TM civi. Aug.) Has anyone tried the KA midcaps for the aug? If so, please tell me your 2 cents about them.

I have them, will be testing them this weekend.
(not that anybody asked just a warning)
I do know for a fact though that the brand BE (Both Elephant) DOES NOT WORK with Classic Army AUGs they will slowly bend the BB feed and your AUG WILL NOT fire without repair. But hey that's what happens when you try using a $10 highcap.
So on the other hand? Who wants to buy a BE Highcap for 1 dollar?
I will buy it if *ENGLISH* going to the gam this week. For some reason they work great in my TM
*if you are going to the game this week*

whether leaving storing your magazines loaded is bad or not...I'd rather just take the extra five minutes to dump my magazines and store them unloaded, Just to be safe.
