To Swiss Cheese or Not to Swiss Cheese, that is the question!
So I cannot decide, do I want to swiss cheese my piston or not? I have heard mixed things about it and all I heard from Jon is that it may increase the ROF in a high ROF set-up (which I have).
I leave it up to you C3!
Facts...
It reduces piston weight
The circular holes are the strongest kind, shouldn't compromise piston integrity
The sides of the piston don't really experience much stress anyway, its mostly the head of the piston where the spring pushes

I think it should be able to handle a PDI 170% though, plus most of the torsion is on the teeth section, and I'm gonna let that be, not to mention my cheesing is not gonna be as extreme as that picture.

Let me know how that works out!
Well I know it will compromise it too a point...but now that I think about it, the ROF gain is probably not worth it, it's gotta only be like 1RPS...cause polycarb pistons are already pretty damn light.

I've only read what people have said about swiss cheesing. I would never do it but there are people out there that do it, and Im not sure how long things last untill something goes wrong. I really dont think its going to increase it enough to be worth the trouble. If you take a stock aeg, and swiss cheese it I dont think you'll see anything, but if you take a gun with high speed parts, I'm not sure. Im not really sold on it. Like I mentioned in other posts, there are several mods out there that people swear by, and they barely increase performance. I feel this mod is one of them. You spend all this effort with little gain. And please you've brought your gearbox to my store so many times, do you really want to bring it back for a brand new piston??

That is the selling point, I am 100% not going to do this.
