Is there a rule against it? Because, to be honest, at this late hour I find my self somewhat incapable of actually looking at blocks of text without flinching a little from the light. I might be a cave troll, or I might have a legitimate reason to not read, science hasn't dictated to me yet whether either is applicable.

If you're going to respond, yes there is a rule against it. If you're not... then no.

READ. COMPREHEND. POST.

With the "Instant Message" becoming mainstream, many people are now writing like they speak. Gone are the full descriptions and extra words to describe feelings. Voice tone and facial expressions are now implied.

This will lead to problems if not headed off. Make sure you read each post, the post before that one, and the one before that, if possible. Try and get a feel for the tone of the thread and the tone the user is using. Then post. Most importantly, do not skim the topic if you plan to make a comment. You could very well miss a vital piece of information.

If someone mistakes your post as an attack or whatever, be the bigger person and try to reexplain your position. Remember, sarcasm doesn't always fly in text.
