The working gun of my colection (TSD L96 stock) has hit that point where the stock internals just are crap but it still works.
Airsoft atlanta has a great selection from what I've seen but I wondered if anyone got a zero trigger somewhere else cheaper. On atlanta it's like $220.
Beyond that I need new packing and a new hopup unit,
A new spring that'll put me wihin C3s Sniper FPS limits,
A new real accurate barrel,
Piston stuff and a piston head (need some help on what to do for that area).
Overall I want consistent accuracy at around 50+ yards, C3 approved FPS, and hey if you got some tips for keeping her quiet thats always cool to.
And if there's already a post on this sorry for the inconvinience and just direct me to it and delete this one thanks.

Airsoft Atlanta does stock a large amount of Sniper Rifle parts. I think alot of the stuff is over kill to get the L96 shooting well. If you have the extra money to spend or really WANT the Zero Trigger thats fine. I dont think it is needed for the Rifle to shoot within C3 regs. I have a Mad Bull Blue bucking with a PDI Hop-up. The PDI is once again out of stock with Aisoft Atlanta. The Barrel Im running a JBU 6.03-(very cheap and works well) JBU also has a 6.01 out there somewhere. For internal cyl parts, Im just using the UTG Power Upgrade. This is SUPER cheap instead of spending another $200 on some of the cyl kits. Going this route I saved about $400+. With .2's Im running about 470's fps with the Hop-up off as far as it will go.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience!

I completely agree with Rich. The L96 is a great base gun because it has a 90 degree sear set, which can handle higher FPS, a nice bolt pull for such a high FPS, and the only thing it needs is a good hopup, a bucking, and a tightbore barrel to run smoothy. Even without upgrades, you can still squeeze about 230 feet out of it.
I recommend you pick up a new hopup chamber (either PDI or HP), a good AEG bucking (Systema, Firefly, or Prometheus), and a tightbore barrel of some kind (needs to be around 490-500mm long).
With that, you'll be all ready to lay down the plastic death! :)
I'm not a sniper myself but I have seen and shot Rich's L96 and I can tell he knows his stuff. Overall I thought the most impressive and innovative thing Rich had done to his gun was to fill it up half way with a self-expanding foam. The foam makes the rifle much more silent and you should ask him about it.
I'll shoot ya a PM Rich, thanks guys now specificly got any links for those parts if not I can find the stuff. And in terms of installing the hopup I always ask guys and they never give a clear explanation on it.
Basicly new set of questions
1 Got links? If not I'll just find what ya mean.
2 I thought I needed a zero trigger for any upgrade work, am I wrong?
3 How do I remove the hopup unit, how do I insert the bucking into the new unit, and how does it go back on.
Thanks a ton guys.

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
DISASSEMBLY VIDEO GUYS A TWIT BUT GOOD
Check his other videos for doing the hop-up and other things
Airsoft is VERY opinionated. Someone may dissagree with some of these upgrades. I'm giving you the information on what I am using in my gun right now. Is there something better to do? Hell if I know. Im VERY pleased at the proformance.
I hope this will help you out. When you are ready to do the upgrades and need a hand bring it to the field. I would be glad to help you do it over lunch time. Very fast and easy to do.

To be honest, you don't really need to spend the $18-$22 on barrel spacers, I JUST got done finishing a little DIY'ing on my L96 in preparation for an upcoming game and was able to make some pretty nice barrel spacers using electrical tape and the foam ones that come stock.
Rich, what kind of range and accuracy do you get with your setup?

The tape and the stock foam spacers will work but still dont give the inner barrel the best fit. However the PDI spacers have orings on the inside and out of the spacers causing a VERY tight fit for the the inner and outter barrel. The spacers are about 2 inches long making it more stable. If you are doing the hop-up and barrel upgrade why not try and get the least amount of barrel movement as possible since it is already apart. You have to remember the scope is mounted to the receiver. Just a hair of barrel movement will make feet of differance down range. Even if you rest the barrel on something instead of the stock your shots will be way off target from the barrel flex.
On the range - With .4's its shooting flat out at 50yrds. I'm able to hit a trash can at 75yrds with dropping down a mildot. Anything over that it falls like a brick.

I have tried the Systema bucking. It worked well with .3's. Once I went to .4's I couldn't get enough hop to get any range. I found that the Madbull Blue bucking is a slight bit thicker and harder to give you more hop. Madbull also "claims" a fps increase due to a tighter fit and better air seal.

Could that have been caused by the PDI nub? I've heard nothing but bad things about the nub that comes with the PDI chamber.
Well a thicker nub would increase hop-up. If I put anymore of the bucking into the barrel I will be shooting the bucking at people. It's set so high now that .3's look like rockets shooting for the stars.
