After having the gun for almost 6 months, I feel that a review thus far of my TSD G36E2 can be performed.
Realsteel History: You can look it up yourself, this is airsoft. Helpful links on Realsteel History include World Guns and HK Pro.
G36 Models: There are several variations of the G36 rifle. Starting with the smallest variation is the C model. The C model is the most common of the G36's from what I've noticed at the field. Boasting a railed handle and short barrel, it's a great compact weapon. Next size up is the K model, which generally includes a scoped handrail (3.5x) and slightly longer handguard/barrel. Next size up is the G36 (G36E) model. This model is the longest of the G36 rifles. The G36 has a scoped carry rail along with a long barrel. Other variants include the MG36 (LMG version) and the HK SL8 (Sporting rifle, civilian version of the G36). There are other models available, but let's get to the gun! Courtesy to n00bTard for the information on the G36 models.
About SRC SRC probably has the most embarrassing name of any airsoft company. Performance: At this point, I've owned 2 TSD G36's. The first one I had gotten had a very low compression at around 180 fps. Taking advantage of the TSD 60 Day Warranty, ASGI replaced the gun for me. The new one works much better, firing at a very consistent 362 FPS. With an Intellect 8.4v Mini Battery, the gun gets a very high rate of fire. Not too high, but certainly not low either. The gun is hitting a very good range, with just as nice an accuracy as my M14 but in a slightly smaller package.
The magazines are fairly nice. Nothing great, but feed well enough with proper winding. You absolutely must wind them all they way until they stop clicking or you will not have great feeding and will end up winding it every 10 shots.
They have a decent feel to them and lock in well. They even have a little bullet carved onto them at the top. Clamping them together is a bad idea. The tabs are prone to breaking, but this happens with just about all the G36 mags; even Marui's.
I've begun converting mine into an MG36. "Converting" a G36 to an Mg36 requires only about 2 parts, and a relatively low amount of cash compared to other conversions. All one needs is a bipod-handguard and a CMAG. There aren't many good companies out there for CMAG's, but running an Echo1 CMAG on mine has proven well.
Pro's:
Higher Quality Body
Very nice Internals
AEG Performance and Reliabilty, MPEG Price.
Great Range
Con's:
-The hopup/magwell system. If you replace the hopup you will have no problems.
-Related to the first con, PPA Magwells require the feed tube sanded off.
-G36 Mags are Bulky
-Handguard is too small inside, seam-line on the outside of it.
All in all, if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to the Classic Army G36, look no further. While it's not much cheaper, the performance is great and the rifle should last a long time. No doubt not as long as a Marui. However, if you just replace parts like any other CA; you can have this working for a long time reliably. With a nicer quality than a JG G36c, why not check out the TSD/SRC G36? ASGI has them on sale for only $160 scoped, and $150 railed at the time of writing this review.
Thanks for reading, feel free to provide your own input and questions. I'm more than happy to answer as much as I can.
Thanks,
-Jeremy

A little bit of the review got hacked out. But that's okay. It really just went over the externals (which are Fiberglass), the seam line on the handguard; and the gearbox (which it and it's components are made of a much higher quality metal than MPEGS.) Another thing to throw out there is the metal hopup which has it's own feed tube on it. All other G36's out there have the tube on the magwell.

Interesting. Maybe it's just their camera... but mine has absolutely no shine to it. It also feels nearly the same as the CA's body. I have no doubt in my mind that it is the Nylon Fiberglass.
Upon reading your first link to Airsoftforum, I really see no necessary reason for you to have posted that. As far as the airsoft-world is concerned, all my information was correct. It really only comes down to size and the parts thrown onto it externally; it's an assault rifle after all and the external parts all come down to the user.

Well I guess it is some sort of fiberglass then...
And, I just wanted to say that the G36 is not the same as a G36E, although very similar.
Ah, sorry. I thought you were saying something completely different. Carry on.

I put the gun through hell yesterday, but treated it well.
Yesterday it succumbed to being dropped for the near ~20th time, nothing wrong with it. Throwing on the CA Scoped Carry-Rail was as easy as 3 screws; and it fits on perfectly without any problems, just to show you how compatible it is with TM and CA parts. The Private-Parts Magwell fits and feeds fine once you take that feed-tube off the magwell, and I had no problems with it. Some mags feed well, and others do not. A piece of soft Velcro in the back of the magwell should fix this.
Range however, was very lacking. Turning the chamber UP takes the hop DOWN, and Vice Versa. Upon turning the chamber down, it only moved a few clicks! So I turned the chamber up about 20-something times to turn the hopup off completely. Then turning it down a bit; I was able to achieve proper range and accuracy.
One thing I did notice however; is that the gun does fire at 360 fps. Because of this; I do not recommend using .2's. At that speed; I feel that they are not stable enough in flight and the slightest wind kicks them off course. A tightbore and hopup will be the next parts in the gun, and pictures will be up soon.

Hahaha thankyou. And yes, the carry handle was CA. You were the guy with the G36c and Battleaxe Magwell?
The scope's pretty nice and works well. As far as spotting goes, it gets the job done and such.

The body is most-definitely ABS. Granted, a much better ABS than the other clones available (namely the JG), however the new G36's available by TSD/SRC (C and K Models) are confirmed to be actual fiberglass and whatnot.

Another thing to throw in here. Last game, somebody was having problems with it. They were experiencing lockups and such with the rifle. I've used it a bit since then with no problems. I'll be taking a look at the motor to see if there's anything wrong there, but I'm certain it was just Patrick's batteries.

I put those batteries in my P90 afterwards and they worked fine.
Something I noticed with my TSD RPK that is probably true of VS's G36 (If it's mechanism and gearbox is the same or similar in quality) is it runs much better with either high quality batteries or better yet 9.6 volt batteries. My cheaper 8.4 1200 mah batteries don't seem to have enough umph to turn the gearbox, at least not for very long. Chances are good that the lighter internals in your P90 (or better shimming) lets the mechanism turn with less resistance requiring less effort and voltage draw.
I'm gonna have to agree with that, thanks Jeep. My CYMA M14 battery wouldn't turn this gun much past 50 shots, but would still run for a thousand in the actual M14.

Now, I've never seen an actual G36 magazine in person (never been airsofting but hopefully soon) but I'm assuming it's about the size of an AK 47 mag, but a little shorter, right? I need to know to make my descion on what type of tac vest I should buy.

G36 magazines are a pain to find pouches for. AK and M16 magazine generally do NOT work right. Part of this is hk designed the magazines to lock together like legos so they stack. This makes them to wide for M16 or most AK pouches are a little to deep. What I found worked is a SAW pouch will barely fit three G36 mags locked together, it is a tight fit. The alternative is to find specially made G36 magazines.

Ok, thanks. I was thinking on getting a simple UTG Deluxe Tac vest, but with that being said, I don't think i'll be able to hold enough mags for my liking. Back to the ol' drawing board.

*Angel quire starts singing* Not five seconds before I read that, I saw a review that said that the vest could hold two M4/M16 mags. So I'm back in G36C range.
