UTG M14 Review
I've had it for a little over two years and it's had 65,000 rounds or so through it so I figured I would give it a review. Generally speaking most people's outlook towards UTG guns are to avoid them like the plague, but I can't say anything bad about mine(yet). For $170 you get two hi-caps and a scope mount in addition to the gun itself.
Overall performance:
When I got this gun a few years back I was certainly impressed. Performance wise it stood up to my Classic Army's. It's rof is about 800-850 on an 8.4, and 900 on a 9.6, equally matched with my CA's. It's range is a good 150ft, and it's accuracy is dead on, also equal to my CA's. To this day it performs like it did out of the box. I've never opened the gearbox and it's bone stock, so I can't say whether it looks internally, like the day I got it, but so far there have been no issues with it. It chronoed 301 at PL.
Overall satisfied with performance. 10/10
Externals:
It's not the most externally solid gun. The flash hider has fallen off and the left portion of the front sight is bent. The rear sight also came loose, but I've "fixed" these problems with electrical tape and I don't really notice it anymore. The plastic is durable though. 6/10
Other noteworthy things about this gun:
This gun has outlasted every single classic army I own/owned. I've put over 6 times as many rounds through this gun than any of my Classic army's and they all tend to have wiring, tappet plate, and motor issues. It's also one of the quietest aeg's I've ever heard and would make a nice dmr setup. For a clone it's lasted a long time, and i'd say the $170 price tag is worth it in the long run.
