If you are completely serious about upgrading "your" UTG MP5 then you should look at this. I am not sure if this would pertain to stealthmonkey's post (2 down) but here it goes. Credit to Airsoft Atlanta Blogspot.

Very interesting indeed. I guess the extra 0.5mm difference in the bushings and gears are to prevent any lawsuits from TM. But it would make an upgrade a PITA.

then couldn't you just buy metal g&g bushings and put them in the utg?

yep, but they have to be for the m14, not the standard g&g ones, tougher to find.
